I LOVE veggies with dip. It is my favorite snack (well, tied with popcorn). The only issue I find is that dips are SO full of calories that it totally negates how healthy the veggies are. One of my most favorite dips is T. Marzetti’s dill dip. I don’t even buy this for myself because it is SO bad for me that I am afraid I will eat it all too fast. It has 14 grams of fat in just two tablespoons and almost 150 calories. Most dips are close to this and while I like hummus, it never satisfies my dip craving when it comes to raw veggies.
Today at Target, I saw Panera’s Greek yogurt veggie dill dip. I looked at the nutrional facts and was shocked when I saw there are only 50 calories and 4 grams of fat in two tablespoons! That is a third of the amount in my favorite dill dip. Obviously, I bought it and it is DELICIOUS! I just chomped down some baby carrots and it was so good. It has all the best dip qualities and flavor but because it’s made with yogurt, it is a much healthier alternative to these high calorie, high fat dips.
I hope other yogurt-based dips appear as well! I love being able to have a nice scoop of dip with my veggies!
